Waldo & Marsha (DK) wins second place at the international final
17.08.10 In the past weekend the international final was held as part of the out door festival Taubertal Open Air in Germany. There were big expectations to the Danish and Swedish winners after they won the Nordic finals in Stockholm in May. Furthermore last years Swedish first place in the international final was also creating extra focus on the two bands representing the Nordic area at the international final.
After a great concert Saturday it was clear at the award show on Sunday that Waldo & Marsha from Denmark was selected as second place and Factory Brains from Sweden was awarded with "best guitar player". Besides this the Danish band won a new price which consists of a distribution deal with Believedigital and promotion of the band's EP worth 10.000 euro! As an extra "pad on the shoulder" a German representative of one of the "major labels" contacted the Danish band after their concert at the international final which not only illustrates the great opportunities the participants of Emergenza Festival can enjoy but also the fact that the level of the Nordic upcoming music scene is really high!

This year, one Scandinavian Emergenza Festival-band is going play a slot at the 18th edition of this prestigious and huge open air festival, and it might be you!
Sziget achieved its fame on one hand by being the biggest festival in Europe. But also, the atmosphere is very special, since the festival area is situated on a green island in the middle of Budapest. You find the advantages of both city and nature, and the prices for food, drinks and accommodation are really cheap compared to other European countries.
The name Sziget means 'island' in Hungarian but to the thousands and thousands that come from all over Europe every year, Sziget means the biggest party on the continent and it makes Sziget the meeting point of Europe. One with over 1000 artists in every music genre imaginable performing on one of the 55 stages during the week-long festival. More than 50% of the visitors come from outside of Hungary, resulting in a daily attendance of 60.000 people. The line-up as usual consists of some of the biggest names in the business: Muse, Iron Maiden, Fear Factory, The Hives, Yeasayer, Faithless, Gentleman, Nina Hagen, Major Lazer, The Specials, Kasabian, Billy Talent, 30 Seconds to Mars, Simian Mobile Disco, Calvin Harris, The Picturebooks, Gorillaz Sound System, Gotan Project and Papa Roach are just the most known of the acts that are confirmed until now.

Emergenza Festival Oslo 2010 kicks off!
11.03.10 Emergenza Festival Oslo 2010 kicks off in March. The world's biggest festival/music competition for upcoming bands kicks off with over 100 bands in Norway. Later this year the winners from Norway, Sweden and Denmark will shine together in the big Scandinavian finals at Debaser Medis in Stockholm. Until then we welcome you to numerous fantastic LIVE concerts with the best acts the Norwegian underground offers at the moment!
KID GALAHAD (Sweden) - international winners of Emergenza Festival!
11.08.09 For most unknown bands this is just a dream. For Kid Galahad from Sweden it is a dream come true. The band from Gothenburg in Sweden has won the world's biggest music competition for unsigned bands, Emergenza Festival.
The drummer in the band, Marcus Svedin, was even selected as the best drummer, and he won a complete Mapex drumkit!
After the award ceremony the band was led to the biggest stage of the Taubertal Open Air Festival where they performed once more - this time in front of about 8000 people! The first price will either be a production of a record or a European tour (as chosen by the band itself).
Emergenza Festival is the world's biggest music competition for upcoming bands. In the past season over 600 bands participated in the Scandinavian area and several thousands all over the world.
