[14.10.08] - Marshall is supporting upcoming bands
The one and only Terry Marshall was in Germany to head the Emergenza International Jury. If you are not familiar with the Marshall name, then you should not be into music. For the last 40 odd years Marshall Amplifiers have shaped the sound of rock. All the songs you hear on the radio, all the best rock/pop/metal and what have you style of music play Marshall Amps. Terry and his father, Jim, are single handedly responsible for the sound of today. Without Marshall there would not be The Who, Jim Hendrix, Gun'n'Roses, The Police and Hundreds of Others. Not only is Marshall the most famous name in Rock, but their amplifiers go to 11 (fill here other spinal tap references please).
Q) Marshall is the most famous name in amplifiers already so you don't need an introduction, Emergenza is working with musicians on a global scale but obviously on a "ground level", meaning, we are “nurturing the stars of tomorrow”….. Am I right in saying that the Marshall-Emergenza association is a labour of love to help new talent spring up?
Terry: Working with Emergenza to support new talent is really a natural continuation for us. When we built our first amplifier in 1962 it was for customers such as The Who, and Eric Clapton, who were then unsigned artists at the beginning of their careers, just like the musicians I saw at this year's Emergenza final.
At every Emergenza Festival concert Marshall will provide special edition guitar and bass amps on stage.

[13.10.08] - Royal Republic (Swedish 2008 winners) in Paris
